Imagine yourself
bathing in a river surrounded by millions of people, the banks
strewn with flowers, incense sticks. Bathers in a constant state of flux - in
colorful garb, shedding tears of joy and gratefulness, frolicking, praying, as
earthen lamps ensconced on dry leaves float by. Sounds intriguing? It was a
unique experience - the holy dip at Sangam, the confluence of rivers - Ganga,
Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. On certain bathing days, more than thirty
million people took a holy dip at Sangam.
