NITISH NAHARAS

The aarti finished, I walk, splashing around, wading my way through water. I am not alone - there are multitudes of people thronging the place. People sitting along the water preparing earthen lamps in the memory of their dear departed souls, some about to float the lamps, as some little islands float by, some saying prayers after burning incense sticks, lamps and offering flowers and coconuts to the river.
