This is in remembrance of my "Chachiji" - a major aesthetic influence
on me in my formative years.
She is no more but her vivid memories remain.
I would miss your big eyes, a big bindi on your forehead and the
love I felt whenever I visited you. If only I knew that you would be gone so soon...
She was a very stylish, beautiful and creative person. Her love for arts,
her well-decorated home and experimentations in cooking had a lasting
impression on me. Very affectionately, she would call - "Son, come
here, sit and talk to me." I can still feel that she is here.
I always wanted to shoot a formal b/w portrait of Chachiji. Last when
I visited her, she was not ready to sit for a portrait. Maybe, she was
upset with me at the time for a short visit, much of the daytime spent
visiting the monuments in Agra. Now, she has passed away so suddenly and I
would never have the chance.
In my heart, in my memories, you live on.
